The tech *may* be good, but management has a history of making mistakes
The tech is good, I think that much has been proven. Yes you can argue exectution could be the issue or market penetration. But this tech is further along than LWLG's for instance and management also have a history of exectuing at the highest level of this industry. So I have no fears from that point of view.
Yes they got the 2016 capital raise wrong amongst other things. However, no fledgling management team gets everything right, Apple being an obvious example. I'm sure you could also level the same accusation at Michael Lebby!! The key is to make more good decisions than bad. Something that I believe management have been doing, otherwise we'd be history by now. If you are going to highlight the bad ones, you also have to look at the good.
With respect to SuperPhotonics. Look, I think we have to trust that management know what they are doing. Of course there are inherent risks with regards to a JV in china. But it's too simplistic to say they'll be squeezed out of the deal. That would no doubt result in POET taking away their IP knowledge and threaten the whole thing. We know POET have been approached about selling some of their stake, so it's not beyond the realms of plausibility they end up owning only 25%. But that'll have to be at the right price and startegically the right thing to do. Thankfully the SP JV isn't the only iron in the fire.
