CFO's of public companies generally (always) have contacts in the brokerage industry. Those contacts are friendly, as the brokers are looking for business. 

I wouldn't mind a new, younger CFO who has negotiated and overseen several public financings. But it will be difficult to find one that won't make a capital raise which will appear to most as broker friendly.
