Just to add. POET's Optical Interposer platform allows for low loss connectivity associated with the remote laser (high coupling efficiency). The reason behind moving the laser is to remove it from the high temperature environment associated with the Switch or AI ASIC to reduce laser failure and to provide the ability to swap out a failed laser or module without requiring an outage to the switch (or complete replacement of the switch).

But POET's requirements do not end here. Because POET's waveguides (MUX/DEMUX) are athermal this results in the ability to maintain highly accurate wavelength across temperature variations allowing for very close connections to the switch which allows for maximum data transfer rate at low power.
