How can LWLG have purchase orders? They are still working on PDK's. There is a reason why Suresh is not interested in using a polymer based modulator. LWLG can talk about improved thermal stability all they want but how long does the organic chromophore actually function at design metrics under extremely high speed continuous operation? How quickly does the operation degrade apart from the question of thermal stability which again remains very difficult to achieve with so many opposing temperature limits in a monolithic application.
POET’s platform is designed to use the best material sets for the given function and to provide a choice for customers to custom design exactly what is required to meet their needs across a broad range of applications.
"We are very pleased to be working with one of the leading companies in TFLN modulators," said Dr. Suresh Venkatesan, Chairman and CEO of POET Technologies. "Of all the materials currently under development for high-speed modulators, including monolithic silicon, indium phosphide and advanced polymers, we believe that TFLN offers the most promise for early commercial deployment and potential long-term success.
