POET stuff makes other people's stuff better.

That's a nice echo of the famous tag line;
"At BASF, we don't make a lot of the products you buy.
We make a lot of the products you buy better."

Maybe that's the direction POET will need to go in as far as explaining their company to the investor community. BASF could utilize this strategy because it was easy to illustrate the benefit of making lipstick brighter or a floor more durable or a jacket warmer or paint more color fast - lots of emotionally-charged, easy to explain human situations were easily orchestrated to bring the point home...

But it could be a costly exercise, because in order to do it, POET would need to spend lots of promotional time detailing what each capability is that our tech surpasses and how that difference translates into not only a better product for our customer, but a better user experience for the end users that they sell to. Along with a nice profit for POET. Emphasis will need to be paid explaining how our patent-protected products will displace certain standard products, but if we are getting ready to supply the old guard that sells those, we might not want to disparage them at this point... 

Other than doing this, our best bet will be (of course) reporting orders and revenue projections.
