"Northland ups Adtran target, calls ADVA combo 'unexpected but attractive'  

Northland analyst Tim Savageaux raised the firm's price target on Adtran to $27.50 from $25 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares, stating that he sees "a lot to like" from the "unexpected but attractive" merger with ADVA. However, judging by the market's reaction with Adtran shares down 17%, the broader market appears to be showing disappointment at diversification away from higher growth broadband access markets and toward lower growth optical transport. Given the positives he sees from the deal and potential for 50% plus accretion post $50M plus in synergies, he would be a buyer on the weakness, added Savageaux."
