Let me just put it this way, in my line of work, I buy a product that is 50% cheaper than what my competition pays for theirs, it is a differentiated product (to quote Mr Lazovsky at the 2019 AGM). The reason I can get away with this is because the competition is married to their suppliers and this product is new and accomplishes the same task for half the price. Many competitors won't even try it as their set in their ways. Secondly, I don't ever talk about this product with my competitors and I have the packaging removed and disposed of after use so no one can even see what it is!
Should I be touting its benefits to my competition and educate them or should I try to negotiate an agreement with the supplier that gives my company an exclusive head start before it becomes known by all the industry players.
I'm not saying Poet is doing this, but I understand if their potential customers want it kept under wraps.
Have a wonderful time with your friends and families these next few days and hopefully much longer than that.
