Short clip from the @POETtech lab in Allentown: A DML (directly modulated laser) is placed on an optical interposer chip via flip-chip and passive bonding. Unlike in the lab, series production is of course carried out WITHOUT any manual intervention.
The fully-automated mass production at wafer scale is one of the POET Optical Interposer’s key features. It enables @POETtech to produce much more cost-efficiently and let the competition pale and fade away.
