What the VC's want to see is the ability to go public at the highest share price possible which is often driven by the "sizzle" factor. There is considerable sizzle in AI currently.

I really don't want them to wait too long, as sizzle generally doesn't last too long. Get a bunch of money in their coffers and use it to expand the business and market the heck out of the photonic fabric and produce and sell it like hotcakes!
