What does seems to be for sale the past several weeks are shares owned by one or two investors who need/want to sell a significant portion of their shares. 

As an example, a long time shareholder passes away holding, say, 50,000 shares. His or her spouse wants no part of this investment. One sure can't sell 50,000 shares at once. 

The needed/wanted sale of a bunch of stock is but one possible explanation for the steady decline recently. I'm hoping the decline is as a result of something like the above rather than other, more sinister reasons. The relatively low volume gives me some comfort that nothing is amiss fundamentally.
