Who wonders about that MRI? Not anyone I know. I really don't know anyone who is happy about the current situation. We are simply observers.

BTW I am really looking forward to inspecting that Celestial patent, nice find by KCCO7913. For now I am going to spitball. I have had a cursory glance and what I see is component mapping of interconnection. Not how they are built but high level configuration. Like a  block diagram of elements. 

But before we get into this let's talk about David L who was the executive chair of POET for a time. Recalling his excitement about POET's future, He declared that the flood gates were going to open. Well he still went on to become the CEO of Celestial. And let's talk about that. Did he not not just recently make statements about the thermal stability of what they were using as an alternative to silicon photonics micro-rings. The number quoted was 10X more thermally stable. The POET platform was built around the monolithic highly integrated and very accurate athermal mux/demux. So everytime you see mux/demux in that patent think POET. As well POET is a master at coupling fiber I mean a couple years ago the best Intel could do exceeded 6db insertion loss end to end. Not a viable solution. So more recently Intel seemed to be promoting a monolithic approach for Ayer Labs. A laser fabricated from deposited III-V material onto the silicon substrate. I think they lost that argument and most definitely the race. The conclusion for me is that they still don’t have it. A remote laser solution that provides a thermal gradient and interchangeability. 

I think anytime you see a connection to fiber that is going to be POET and I am also very confident that any reference MUX and DEMUX is also POET. It is after all the fundamental invention which the optical interposer was created from as it transitioned into an integration platform while David was at POET ... .10X more thermal stable than a micro-ring.

The thermal stability becomes increasingly important in many applications whether it is wearables to conserve battery power or on a pole subject to ambient conditions.
