POET Technologies, Inc. today announced its development of an optical interposer platform for 1.6T transceivers and beyond using 200G per lane technology for next generation data center and AI networks.
With high demand for 800G 2xFR4 transceivers, over 20 private customer meetings were completed.
Two major Tier 1 module suppliers already engaged with POET and its joint venture company, SPX, requested samples to be submitted for immediate evaluation, including optical engines for 800G Tx, 800G Rx, 400G Tx (the POET InfinityÔ chiplet) and 400G Rx. An additional engaged Tier 1 customer requested a quote for a customized 100G LR4 optical engine. Four new potential Tier 1 / Tier 2 customers requested samples as soon as possible for their 800G module designs.
“SPX has received purchase orders from customers, and we are excited about the strong demand for the POET engines in 2024 and beyond"
SPX expects to ramp production of POET’s Optical InterposerTM -based optical engines for 100G CWDM4, POET ONE™ (a 100G single chip TxRx engine), 100G LR4, 200G FR4, 400G FR4 and 800G 2xFR4 solutions.
“Some of our transmit and receive optical engines are already in low-volume production and we expect to add a few more products to the production list by end of the year. Our 100G CWDM and LR4 transmit and receive engines and the 400G/800G receive engines are quite popular with module customers because of the simplicity of the solution and the elimination of active alignments that are required by conventional assembly methods,” said Raju Kankipati, SVP & GM of POET North America. “We expect to capitalize on the steady market demand in China for our legacy products

POET Optical Interposer™ and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for the data center, telecommunication and artificial intelligence markets, today announced that it is collaborating with Yuanjie Semiconductor Technology Inc. (YST), a leading supplier of high-performance lasers. The collaboration will enable POET’s joint venture, Super Photonics Xiamen (SPX), to ramp optical engines to high-volume production utilizing YST’s lasers.

“I want our shareholders to know that, from a business perspective, POET believes it is on track to commercialize our technology and products with initial production expected to commence this year and continuing into 2024, and we are working diligently to speed up customer acquisition and sales,” said Dr. Suresh Venkatesan, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of POET. “Our existing customers are finally completing their module designs for sampling and sale to their end customers, which include hyperscale data centers, network system operators and telecom companies, primarily in China. We have re-focused and accelerated our efforts on the highest speed engines designed for 800G and 1.6T pluggable modules, which we plan to introduce to the market in 2024. 800G and 1.6T modules are gaining increasing market appeal as specialized data centers running AI software applications.
Non-recurring engineering (NRE) payments for custom designs and initial sales of engines and modules in the AI hardware market are expected to provide multiple single-digit millions in revenue to POET in 2024 and lock-in significant growth in 2025 and beyond, both from the pull of the massive growth in the market and from the products we expect to introduce to meet the demand.
Bridge financing is a short-term financing option used by companies in order to cover costs or fund a project before income or financing is expected.
The technology works and anyone suggesting otherwise is not thinking clearly, but is clearly adding to the present cash runway fears.
We gained six weeks of cash runway.
NRE coming in the single-digit millions in 2024.
The executive team is still carving out additional options to get us to the finish line.
If there were technology problems and ongoing lies, then I'll be right there with you and a pitchfork,
but this currently is a fuel problem and a very common one for pre-revenue companies.
It is easy to pass judgement when we are not in command of the facts.

Nothing has changed. The vehicle is amazing, but needs fuel. A Bugatti with an empty gas tank is still a Bugatti. There could be far worse problems."
