Technology, Financing, Dilution, Pipeline, Revenues..

I enjoy reading everyone's comments on this forum, and I certainly understand the various concerns and perspectives.  I'll offer this insight of my own:

When I started a company with a few other guys about 18 years ago, the initial 2 founders had already developed technology providing valuable competitive differentiation from similar solutions on the market.  We had NO money, and we had NO sales.  Initially, we funded the company with Angle Investments.  Then, after establishing some revenue and developing a decent pipeline, we raised a small amount of money in a series A.  Our strategy was to raise as little money as possible, keeping dilution to a minimum.  Some competitors had a different strategy.  They raised a great deal of money, made headlines, and attempted to grow so fast that they might take over the market.  In the end, many of the employees and investors of those competitors earned nothing on their investments and equity because valuations simply couldn't keep up with expectations based on the amount of money invested.  Our company, on the other hand, grew slow and steady through multiple series of funding.  And our employees and investors did very well when, after 12 years of steady growth we were acquired by another company.

While I understand the reasonable concern about cash flow, I believe that POET will be a significantly valuable investment if they are able to build this business through impactful partnerships as opposed to large investments.  That's what I see happening.  And, that's why I am calm.

No. That's why I am excited.
