To be fair, this video is a template for all stocks that make bold claims and deliver nothing. Let's look at Poet specifically. He showed charts how Poet has stated the production was around the corner since 2021, yet today, still looks to be stuck in the mud.....no argument here, that's why we've been upset the last 2 years.
As far as I'm concerned, the ONUS has now shifted to the company to make good on its latest series of statements to its shareholders, namely.....
1) Suresh stated April 10 "we believe we are well positioned to disrupt the traditional supply chain, through modules and license agreements with some of these big players.....we have products designed in with Adva and Luxshare's optical module division, as well as Celestial Ai (chips for GPU memory interactions) in which we are designed in as well and a smattering of others in China.
90% of all optics are still produced in China so we need to relax on that fact, where do you think your wonderful Apple products come from? Same supplier Poet is working with, Luxshare.
2) Suresh also said they are having discussions with the biggest players (since he's now focused on bleeding edge) and these discussions were initiated at OFC and the blog last week confirms they are feverishly following up on these potential customers. It seems the OFC opened some doors and opportunities that they couldn't open before, isn't that what samples of bleeding edge will do for you? I'll tell you this much, the customers are salivating at the prospects of getting their hands on 200g per lane products (saves cost per bit, energy and fibre that doesn't have to be deployed to increase the throughput)
3) As we've learned too many times with Poet, talk is cheap! So here's the statement that matters today and has the most horsepower.... "We would expect over the course of the coming quarter to have additional partner or customer announcements around especially the leading edge.....be able to show that some of these solutions are being taken up and driving a lot of excitement"
Yes you do Poet!
Yes you do Suresh!
We don't need a big share of the market to drive a substantial amount of revenue.
You think this week was good, if these guys finally deliver what we've been expecting for the last 2 years, the price of an integral AI supplier will be a lot more that's what we're seeing today.
Bottom line, it's time to execute!
