Wafers have always been made outside of China – because reasons. It’s Silterra in Malaysia where the optical interposer wafers are produced. The wafers are then sent to Super Photonics in China, where the active components are mounted on them, i.e., lasers, photodetectors etc. But of course it is important to find a second production base for this, that’s for sure.
