Manager – Test & Development Engineering

We are searching for an experienced Optical Test & Development Engineering Manager to lead our R&D testing team for designing & developing test methodologies, set-ups, and testing plans and procedures.

Our ideal candidate must be ambitious, self-directed and independent. Of particular importance to us are the ability and desire to lead the test team, learn, and the drive to work very hard with similarly motivated people.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for the latest R&D products.
• Perform waveguide and optical coupling tests of passive components, and electro-optical tests to characterize active optoelectronic devices and photonic integrated circuits.
• Work closely with other teams/departments on both in-house and outsourced partners.
• Identifies opportunities in the test group to improve test capabilities and procedures to increase efficiency.
• Provides test forecasts and identifies test lab needs.
• Generate test reports with measurement results and detailed analyses in a timely manner.
• Contribute actively to the build-up of test and characterization capabilities of the Photonics Test Lab, including maintenance of test set-ups and jigs and calibration of the measurement instrumentation, as well as software control and automation of the set-ups.
• Leads the engineering test group and ensures that all test developments follow a disciplined engineering process.
• Grow and develop a team of Test Engineers and Technicians.
• Leads and controls the test of new and recurring products.

Key Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with component testing and evaluation.
• Graduate degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with high-speed RF characterization tools and methods and optical testing.
• Ability to analyze measurement data to extract key device performance features.
• Experience with programming for test automation.
• Proficient in working with large datasets and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking and strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Leadership, team building, and mentoring skills
• Hands-on experience with coherent communication systems and optical testing is preferred.

This position is to be based in Singapore and we welcome candidates who are willing to relocate independently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM18,000.00 - RM21,000.00 per month
