One of Dave Lazovsky's recent interviews posted here had a clue about that. He said he learned that going public should not happen until the company is profitable or has orders (or some other wording) that show a clear path to profitability. 

The vibe is that he wants to go public, and he speaks of his current CAI company as a "unicorn" worth many multiples of the investments made in it.
