Anthony Yu, Global Foundries: "The GPUs within the servers can be connected through a compute fabric. I would say the most significant difference since 2023 is now we have this concept of compute fabric, which is ushering in the need for co-packaged optics."

Compute fabric concept: interconnected nodes that looks like a weave or a fabric. Think aerial view of your neighborhood where the interconnections of the housing lots and streets form the image of a fabric.

CAI's Photonic Fabric should be viewed as a game-changing addition to a compute fabric design because the interconnected nodes will have more overall optical data transport than competing solutions.
