I tried to get a closer look into Ayar Labs situation right now.

Ayara Labs are supported by Strategic Investors :

Applied Ventures
Global Foundries
HPE
intel capital
Lockheed Martin
NVIDIA

Ayar Labs promise a lot - at a first view.
At a second view - at least the timeframe - the reality come very down to earth :

Product shipments will be likely in 2-3 years from now.

POET is already there NOW.

So I think as an strategic investor how long will those wait and hope for Ayars' success ?
Or change their investments in the meantime - to POET ?

IMO a very positiv sign with Ayar Labs is : they do a lot the technic to understand for non-techis
This I see helpful also for POET - the photonic in general.
