I had the same question.

Can the hyperscalers just skip to 3.2T to be ready for anything that ramps the speeds to where that is needed, but still be just fine with 800G loads in the interim?

Obviously the price for a 3.2T device is going to be more, but if it skips the next 1 or 2 upgrade cycles that are coming fast, why not?
