I have a friend that got in on a financing...when his shares became tradeable and he tried to get them put in his TFSA at his purchase price....RBC told him he had to deposit in his normal trading account first...take the capital gain..since share price went up...and then transfer to his TFSA at the higher price which also diminished his room for deposits...
