At least Alex of STY acknowledged payment this time. Previously he didn't and was in violation of securities act compliance: mandatory disclosure of paid promotion.

Certainly people on the forums feel anything's permitted, everyone's doing it. Maybe Adrian can pay telemarketers to call up seniors' homes asking for credit card numbers. If the seniors give out the numbers, that's their choice, right?
