It is a new technology and it had to be proven capable of being a reliable solution. They were too late to have a big impact at 100G. Suresh had great success with the DML which is extremely energy efficient. The path is not always a straight line when your target is moving and companies are trying to project the correct direction to take. POETs platform is a model of efficiency and so companies like Misubishi need a platform that is fast to integrate their devices. POET has met  that requirement and Luxshare who were early was able to see how good POET is when they applied the 400G RX...That was a starting point. 

Suresh stress tested the platform well beyond the norms early on and he continues to push the limits. And the platform continues to meet those demands. But it not just the platform. It's the teams that are in place all rowing in the same direction that is making this move forward and building momentum.

It takes time to prove the level of reliability that this industry needs to get behind a new technology and POET has achieved those benchmarks in the eyes of those companies that want in.
