yah, we never know what is going on behind the curtain. Could be POET inside, but a secret for now. POET has simpified a lot of the work to package the photonics, but it seems like it takes a lot of medium to large size companies to implement. Maybe things will standardize onto POET's solutions eventually. In the meantime, there is enough for POET and may the best solutions win. 

I noted a while back that Luxshare was using Skorpios chiplets and then switched to POET. I'd love to know what the driving reasoning was there. If you read the Skorpios website, they sound just like POET, but they don't seem to have the impressive array of partnerships that POET does. They may be hunting different applications.
