Exactly!  Paradignm shift was meant with a touch of sarcasm since Suresh and POET have already developed what should ultimately and retrospectively be considered a "paradigm shift" in the field of Optical Photonics.  I thought that it should have been obvious to the originator of the MSN story that the Chinese were "probably a year or so behind Poet" to use your own words or possibly much further than a "year or so" in fact behind POET.  I think of the Chinese, in this context, as Johnnie Come Lately and my sarcasm was directed at MSN for not taking the time or the effort to point out the true "paradigm shift" created by Suresh and POET.

Keep in mind that I am not a "Techie" so my simplistic view of things regarding a possible "paradigm shift" might not be accurate.  I leave the ultimate opinion on the significance of POET's research and development in the field of Photonics to the large number of scientific Gurus who populate the most significant keyboards directed to this message board.

By the way, poetry_n_pain, I absolutely loved that sentence you authored in your post:  "Better than the last thing we heard came out of a Wuhan lab...lol"
