The Competitive Landscape

While POET’s technology is innovative, they operate in a highly competitive market.

Competition is good. Top industry participants are  looking for solutions associated with their piece of the pie, especially the end use hyperscalers who drive the boat. POETs strengths can become the competitions strengths by enhancing their own capabilities with POET solutions. Mitsubishi is using POETs platform to package their 400G EML’s. One can understand that they are doing this in response to their customers' demands. So ultimately Mitsubichi customers become POETs customers. There is a need and POET has a solution to that need and it is recognized. That recognition will continue to grow.

Here is a good article to help people understand why Mitsubishi is focused on providing their EMLs in a pluggable form factor and why their customers would want this.

I read it in the wee hours and it made a lot of sense to me so hopefully you find it a good primer to help you understand the drivers.
