The takeaway: 

AMD and Intel have been rivals for CPUs and now they are collaborating.  X86 = CPUs. 

X86 is a family of complex instruction set computer (CISC) instruction set architectures initially developed by Intel based on the 8086 microprocessor.  

CPU - serial processing of tasks that must be completed in a specific order.

GPU - parallel processing of tasks that can be divided into many parts and done simultaneously,
