Again addressing tough technological and social challenges, Apple steps up to the plate and innovates. Solving a major problem, one that may be one of the prime causes of clinical depression, global recession, and possibly global warming and renewed interests in witchcraft, the company has launched a novel box for pizza delivery.
Apple’s pizza box promises to keep pizza crusts from getting soggy, a problem that has plagued some of society’s deepest thinkers for at least a lunchtime. The box is said to be so good that the company has actually snagged a patent for it.
The box, pictured below, supports the circular shape of traditional pizza. Note the holes strategically placed around the top to let steam out. Not only does that get rid of soggy-crust-making moisture, it ensures your pizza is room temperature or cooler when you get it. Also note the platform rims in the box bottom. This keeps the pizza crust suspended above the oil that leaks out of some pizzas.
Apple's really nice pizza box does not include Wi-Fi connectivity or free iTunes downloads.
It is unknown at this time it the box comes in different sizes to accommodate personal-portion, regular, large, extra-large, or deep dish pies. We may have to wait until Starbucks starts offering pizza to find out.
Aside from those issues, I only see two potential problems. The box does not have Wi-Fi connectivity and does not come in a square version to support Sicilian pizza. ~MD
