On the regular forum FJ used this term on one of his posts, "don't throw the baby out with the bath water."   The phrase as I understand it originated when in the olden days the bath tub (which was often located in the kitchen and was filled with hot water from the stove) was utilized by all family members, oldest to youngest.  The oldest took the first bath which was the hottest water, and the baby took the last bath, which was by then, tepid water.  Yes, back then when they had to haul water and fill tubs by hand they all used the same water to take a bath in.  Just thought I would add a little humor to today's posts!  Okay everyone, don't throw the baby out with the bath water!
