I haven't been able to find any information specific to Fujian Province or Xiamen relative to any current drought effects in Xiamen.  So much of the information available on the internet is not current to August, 2022 or it deals with other provinces, mostly provinces along the Yangtze River and not with Fujian Province, home to Xiamen.

The Global Times reports: "Due to low rainfall and high temperatures, drought has occurred in six provinces -- Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui and Jiangxi along the Yangtze River-- since July"

From another article:  "

  • Numerous cities exceeded 111.2°F (44°C), China News reported. Temperatures this high are an acute public health threat."

I did find predictions for temperature highs for the next week for Xiamen yesterday, but can't seem to retrieve that site today.  At any rate, all temp highs for the next week were above 100 degrees F. for Xiamen.

Below is a link that includes a thermographic representation of recent (20 August 2022... they are a day ahead of the U.S.) for all of China.  The area across from Taiwan is Fujian Province, where Xiamen is located.  That area is in red-brown and indicates higher than normal temps:
