A link to an article from BBC on 4 March 2023 titled:
Two Sessions: China looks at reforms to deepen Xi Jinping control
My attention was particularly drawn to the following paragraphs in the above linked BBC article:
"But this year's sessions are particularly significant as delegates are expected to reshape several key Communist Party and state institutions.
They will also tighten control over bodies overseeing the finance sector and scientific and technology work, while "strengthening party-building work" in private businesses, according to state media.
The moves will likely further blur the lines between the Chinese Communist Party and the government, and consolidate the party's control of the private sector."
Bold type added for emphasis by myself and not in the original BBC article.
At the risk of being overly repetitive I will repeat part of my initial post from 23 February 2023 on this same subject here on the Off Topic Forum about trying to outrun the bear:
"Reflecting back on where this post started with an article by Professor Colin Hawes, Hawes stated in his article:
"It’s true that if there are more than three party members within any organisation in China, those members have the right to set up a Communist Party branch. This includes employees of private corporations....."
Although Professor Hawes minimizes to some extent the interference by the CCP in Chinese JV partnerships with "foreign" countries, I do take the Professor's notation about CCP members "within ANY organisation in China" having the fight to set up a CCP Party branch as a valid reflection on the reality of doing business in China for Chinese -"Foreign" JV companies.
What is the context or possible context as it applies or could apply to Super Photonics?
I think the BBC article addresses that context very plainly:
"They will also tighten control over bodies overseeing the finance sector and scientific and technology work, while "strengthening party-building work" in private businesses, according to state media."
Repetitive ad nauseum? No question about that but forwarned is forearmed... or is it?
Time will tell. Meanwhile, "back at the ranch", I am and will remain a strong advocate for POET Technologies to establish a North American manufacturing facility for POET Technology based products.... yesterday, if not sooner.
Respectfully, and with no intention to offend the sensibilities with anyone of a different opinion,
