Outstanding post nodrog, one that deserves main board attention.
The contrast in communications to investors can be simply measured by the first sentence of each company's shareholder update:
LWLG - "2023 has been a transformational year for Lightwave Logic, underscored by the first commercial material supply and license agreement for our electro-optic polymer materials and ongoing efforts to build on this commercialization momentum."
Simple, direct focus on a single important event. This approach continues throughout the letter, never talking over the heads of its audience. Clean and clear.
POET - "POET is committed to our strategic vision of commercializing our advanced device integration technology, which we believe enables us to solve(s) multiple design, performance and scaling challenges in optoelectronic products and to fill an emerging void in solutions that address bandwidth and latency issues in artificial intelligence networks."
Now read the bolded only and decide which is a cleaner lead.
Vague, equivocal ("which we believe enables us") language and technical jargon that fails to spur interest in what they are doing. Continues throughout with detailed descriptions of products without explaining why or whether they may be significant. Completely ignores and fails to confront the 85% loss in shareholder value over the past 6 months, and why the company believes it to be completely at odds with their progress. It's like they accept it without any defense (and so should shareholders?). Pathetic!
Is it any wonder that, while their paths to commercialization, and even potential, may be similar, one is worth more than 14x more than the other. POET, hire a professional consultant to write your investor communications, you guys don't have a clue what you don't know.
