terminology - can we call the stock manipulators Market Makers? I though Market Maker typically is the angel appointed by the company to keep the stock trading liquid.

You can see the MM on slow days, turning over 100 shares updownupdownupdown over and over again, just to keep the bid/asks in a narrow range.

Correct me if I'm out of date on the slang /cedartree
