Good post Montrose, you made a very good point for sure. I don't want to add fuel to the fire but just to make a point (without sounding too badly I hope). The handful of people I know personally own a total of around 325k shares, 20k of those shares being my own. So 1 million shares is probably a serious under-estimate but that doesn't mean everyone will make the same investment decisions at the same time.

That being said,  every tiny piece of information has its own effect in some way, small or large depending on circumstance. Its similar the butterfly effect. If there was any way to capture a link between trading actions and the information that person used to reach their decision I'm sure it could be proved.
Sometimes all it takes is for one scared investor who owns 10-20k (shares since 40c for example and doesn't care) to sell them all at the exact wrong moment (on low volume etc.) and it starts a panic.

In reality; if posts or word of mouth didn't make any difference there would be no pumpers or bashers or spam emails or boiler rooms because it wouldn't matter.  There would be no term coined the "Cramer Effect" and stocks would progress in a straight line, never going up or down. Also I would have never been involved in stocks at all without word of mouth, if I must be honest.

Its just a fact of the market, emotions drive a lot of the action and although Coach for example has given excellent advice and is probably looking out for people; I don't think he truly appreciates what impact words can have. Especially if they come from a credible source with much more knowledge about a given stock.

Although there have been some words thrown around on both sides of the argument I think both sides have valid points. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and this board isn't about pumping and always having rose coloured glasses. Its about making money and maybe some friends along the way. Maybe one day we'll all be laughing and having a good time at that huge Vegas party I'm gonna throw? Lets hope that day comes sooner rather than later.

Cheers.
Gamblor.
