Good call - I checked out the stopbadware report on investorvillage - it checks out.

You could always get a Macintosh and be completely immune to all viruses & malware.  I don't even have a firewall, and no antivirus at all.  Okay forget the Mac idea (bun fight everyone!!)

I also have firefox extensions:  stop autoplay, flashblock, and adblock+adblock filterset.G installed.  Highly recommended.  I don't even know what web ads look like - I never see one.

The investorvillage site is probably more just aggressive with its cookies than really malicious.  It's a bit hypocritical of google to flag this, considering google sends 1) all of your search terms to the NSA etc, and 2) read and analyse all gmail and do the same.

For that reason you can also run the addon called trackmenot (it sends out a zillion bogus searches).

Remember the days, somewhere in the far past, when your computer was actually working for YOU? These days it seems that 95% of the time it's working for the gov't or adservers, and 5% of the time it's doing what YOU want it to do.

For that reason, it's bizarre that your modern 2 GHz computer often can't keep up with your typing, whereas your old 20 MHz computer from 20 years ago had no problem!

Something smells wrong in the state of Denmark!
