My take on it is that the area plays are a huge gamble -- good for day trading only.  Many people assume that because SGX, ATV, etc. are in the same area as Kodiak they'll automatically see some of the same success.  This is a dangerous assumption to make IMO.

None of the area plays to date have come out with any news which justify the rise in their SP's other than pure speculation.

Someone made a good point earlier. If I had $5K to invest, I'd be doing it in KXL rather than gambling on one of these area plays to pan out.
