My geologist friend just returned my phone call concerning your question:re you said prior to your following question, "Another thing that perplexes me is we the BB have discussed how KXL's type formation are known to increase the gpt as they go deeper but our seems to get lighter.
"Is this normal and does it tend to go back the other way as we go deeper?"
The geologist basically said that the gold deposits tend to come out of thermal solutions based on the boiling temperatures and the presence of CO2 or carbon which carry the gold until they themselves drop out of the solution. He said it is very complicated as to what conditions are present for the gold to come out of solution. He said, there are times when gold does not come out of solution because conditions are not ideal.
He is familiar with the Alleghany gold mining district in the western Sierras north of Nevada City in California. When deposits were made there CO2 interacted with serpentine forming what he called meraposite,"bluejay," and as the CO2 dissipated on contact the gold came out of solution and was deposited in spectacular high grade amounts. He currently is the geologist at the Original Sixteen to One Mine in Alleghany, California which produces, in spurts, high grade gold in quartz specimens which are marketed to jewelers, depending on grade, for many times the current price of gold per ounce.
Roxmark owns some past producers in the general area. Premier Gold is in a drilling program on one of them and has discovered some high grade intersections in some short drill sections but I do not remember at what depth. You may want to reserach Premier's drilling results there to attempt a guess at what might be present on KXL's properties at depth where shallow drilling or trenching has already encountered some high grade gold.
It will be important in making a guess that both the KXL property where gold was found and the past producers of Roxmark basically have the same geological structure. I'm not a geologist so you may want to follow up some on your own and learn in the process so possibly you won't be so perplexed in dealing with the probabilities.
As the geologist was speaking with conviction along with giving me all these technical facts, I can only hope I remembered them all correctly as they applied to your question. Sometimes when you listen to a professional go on about his trade using unfamiliar words and terms you sometimes tend to get a little lost along the way.
Hope this helps. Go KXL!!
