Based on Kodiak's Feb 29, 2008 Press Release:

All Kodiak samples are currently being assayed by TSL Laboratories Inc., Saskatoon, SK S7K 6A4 and Accurassay Laboratories, Thunder Bay, ON, P7B5X5.

Would be good to know if they switched from using the above 2 labs over to a single new assay lab or if they are still sending samples over to 2 independant labs.

Back at the time of the Feb 29, 2008 Press Release (the last release with any assay results when they were at about hole #117), since they had drills going in Jan/Feb there certainly would have been cores pulled out of the ground weeks prior to the release that would not have been included as part of the news since past history reflects that it generally takes at least a month or so to get results back from time core is out of the ground until actually receiving assay results.

What does this all mean?

  • there really hasn't been any results from any cores extracted since beginning of Feb or earlier, and with the number of drills turning they have had many cores available for months
  • a recent switch of labs wouldn't explain why previous labs would not have had completed a fair amount of work between start of Feb up to when a decision to switch labs was made (unless cores were simply being stock-piled, in the burning core shack I might add :-), in order to keep warm during the winter deep-freeze)
  • and a switch of labs way back in Feb wouldn't explain why results would not be known by the new lab for cores extracted a number of months ago even with results at a crawl if they had been sent off months ago (news has come out of other companies and if it is taking ActLabs 3 months to process request Kodiak should be looking for another new lab)
  • Whether Kodiak is using a new lab, an old lab, or multiple labs, Kodiak will release results based on their agenda and they do make the choice of expediting or defering results. Anything that is truly material we can be fairly certain they could not be with-holding (if they had just recently pulled out an earth shattering core, we all believe that they are legally obliged to tell the company's investors)
  • the news will arrive when it arrives
