Spookey, not sure which stockcharts chart you were going to show us but it shows up here as the dow industrials :)
I have learned through my own trial and error on stockcharts.com and posting to this particular board: Make your chart, pick whether you want daily or weekly, and THEN scroll down to under the chart where it says "linkable version." Click on that and then copy and paste that URL onto this board.
Along the lines you were suggesting:
This chart shows how expensive or cheap gold stocks are in relation to the price of gold. Now that I have provided this lecture, I hope it works :)

I picked weekly so it shows us all the way back to the middle of 2005, which is kind of cool!
If this is the one you want to recreate on www.stockcharts.com,
here is the format:
$XAU:$GOLD
This chart shows gold stocks are very cheap in relation to the price of gold, which is something most of us have noticed anecdotally. Gold stocks are not the flavor of the month.
Therefore, a great time to buy if you think we are headed for a serious upleg in gold, which is what I think.
The PM stock market will get real this fall. This time the juniors won't be left behind, either.
KXL chart still looking very good to me. I see an imminent upside breakout on heavy accumulation by smart money.
Poised!
