here is my simple person's chart.

stock has broken out convincingly above 50 day moving average.

volume remains stiff. today's volume is already 488k shs.

average for last three months is 337k per full day.

most of this heavier volume has led to upside moves, showing accumulation. that is the rationale behind the on-balance volume trend line shown in the chart. OBV is a basic measure of accumulation or distribution by smart money. it was invented by joe granville and it has become a generic component of most chart services.

i guess another factoid that i would class as technical is the 3 mm increase in net shares held by instituitons that occurred in the last three months (reuters, insitutional holdings). and the net gain in the number of instiutitons holding positions.
