sShilo, you did well until you got to the last line.

"1 ppm = 1 part per 1 million parts

1 ppm = 1 g / 1,000,000 g = 0.000001

Answer   1ppm is 0.000001g"

... nope. 1ppm is 0.000001 tonnes/tonne or 0.000001g/g,
same thing. Notice that your tonnes or grams cancel out.

The bottom line is that ppm is a ratio, not an amount of grams.

The best policy is to use common sense.

A ton of rock fits in a very large suitcase. A gram of gold is
a small pencil eraser. That's about 1 part in a million = 1 ppm.

So 1 ppm grade is the same thing as 1g/t.
