That was my first reaction, too: Why is Barrick selling anything in this area? I don't have a map to figure out how this particular property fits in the scheme of things, but $1M and stock in Premier is chump change for Barrick, so it's not the finances driving the sale. You made a good point that maybe this avoids any question of conflicts with the confidentiality agreement, but even that is puzzling since they probably picked up the property a while ago before any CA. If Barrick were indeed thinking of getting into this area big time (meaning KXL properties) and consolidating, why sell any part at all? All I can think of is that whatever they saw in Kodiak's drill results convinced them that Kodiak's properties are the real deal, and that the Premier property was lesser grade, maybe not on line with the best veins. Any other reasons anyone can come up with?
