I agree that in the future the mining companies will rise, however the timing is still uncertain. Even today the inventories of all major metals at the London Metal exchange are increasing. The companies have a hard time reducing capacity at the same rate as demand had dropped off.
It will take time for these companies to gain any pricing power for their products. I would hesitate jumping into the base metals right now, I would wait for at least a slow down in LME inventory growth. This also applies to base metals juniors.
Gold should however do well and continue to do even better in the future; just my oppinion
