Actually you are both partially correct.

TSE is closed Monday in lieu of Boxing Day being on a Saturday.

New York is open on Monday. Boxing Day is not that big a deal in the U.S.

For us I believe the anticipation will build considerably if we have (a) movement in gold once the Asian markets open Sunday Night. and (b) if NYSE listed gold companies have positive movement on Monday. We closed on the 24th on an "ascending note" so the trend could well continue and even accelerate

That combination with the conclusion of tax loss season can make even the "weak sister week" between xmas and New Years an interesting one. I guess in truth the main benefit for we "longs" is how it reflects on the year end statement.

The real action only starts first week of January when all the main players are back at the table and ready for action.
