In some way I do share your sentiment.
I always thought: whats wrong with salaries ? In my time, when you were good, somebody came along and offered more. Change or not to change , was always the question.
Nowadays salaries are just a number. And I must add, KXL Mgmt does receive salaries to do a job and better a good one ! Bonuses and stockoption, that's where the cooky crumbles.
So, we have to attract talent ! That's where a good salary comes in. What's wrong with than granting options (in KXL case ), out of the money ? How about $ 1.00 or higher ? Now that seems to me to be a real incentive to spit in your hands, roll up your sleeves and as somebody put it, take the toothbrush to the rocks.
My elder son was just granted his first options ( Multinational, middle/upper mgmt $ 10..00/share SP), at $ 12.50. He did not believe it: how can I influence our SP, was is first reaction.
Our Mgmt can, could, should put their hands where their fortune will come from, but not from options !
