I was worried about the ice on Golden Pond last week when our temperatures in the Sault went above freezing for an entire week. Even though Geralton is some 450 km North of here, I know it was unseasonably mild there too.
However, as Cedar reports, we are back to seasonable temperatures for the forseeable future (a week anyway). That means -19 lows here, and -31 lows at the Pond. Even though it will get up to a balmy - 4 here by Wednesday, it will still stay at a daytime high of - 9 in Geralton. Great for icefishing. Even better for icemaking.
