Just watched the 9th miner pulled to safety..He was the oldest ,sickest guy..63 with black lung ..

He certainly wasn't sedated..but he was giving high fives..thumbs up..hugs all around ..prayed a little bit and then got on the gurney and they strapped him down and put the oxygen mask on him and lugged him off..all that friggin' around and THEN the Oxygen mask,,,,,man,.,,he was a tough guy.,..

And it was a Canadian company that had the big drill in Chile..the only drill big enough to take the cage..

Precision Drilling out of Calgary..

They drilled and another Canadian ATCO provided all the trailers you see on TV for the medical team..drilling teams ETC,.,

Pretty great being a Canadian..eh..!!

Sure don't get any honourable mention from CNN..they want their viewers to suppose that this is an All American rescue..

As usual..

SAN JOSE MINE, Chile - Atco Ltd. has sent some of its shelters to a Chilean mine, where 33 workers have been trapped underground for more than two months.

The Canadian conglomerate says some of the modular units will be used as a "dark area" to shield the rescued miners from the light once they reach the surface.

Others will be used for first aid and family visits.

Atco (TSX:ACO.X) shipped the structures from its plant in Santiago, Chile, earlier this month and finished assembling them Tuesday. The first rescued miner was expected to emerge late Tuesday night.

Chilean authorities had earlier enlisted the help of another Canadian company to help in the rescue operation — Precision Drilling Corp. (TSX:PD).

Precision, which drills for oil and gas, had one of the only rigs in the country capable of drilling a hole wide enough for the rescue operation.
