The author, Paul Brodsky, is well respected by Barry Ritholtz, who runs an investment company and appears regularly on US network financial/investing segments. B.R. is not a fan of gold but has at least written explanations of why he has that position. I like to review articles on his site to get very good mainstream analysis and balanced opinions. This article presents an in-depth discussion of gold topics like why gold is not in a bubble, why gold has value, futures contracts(paper gold), what's driving the value of gold up and why gold mining companies can be good investment targets. It's a long article but the sections on gold confiscation and taxation can be skipped.
