The company has always presented itself as not wanting to be seen as a "one trick pony".
In that context they probably have one employee specifically tasked with exploring any new opportunities that might be out there. That person comes in with something worth deeper examination and thus the deal is struck. Twenty grand is not a big deal and what likely was the turning point was previous drilling information that had not been analyzed with current technology.
This may be one of those "exploration only" ventures that others have referred to where the company can establish some degree of hidden value and then market it to someone else.
Never hurts to have more than one iron in the fire but I suspect 98 per cent of the company focus is still on the forthcoming reconfiguration of resource numbers and how that will translate to market acceptance which in the long run will determine financing availability to take this project to the next phase.
