Yes it makes absolute sense for anything close. The capital cost of the mill has to be supported by the main deposit but the secondary pods become economic once the mill is in place. Even though the mill is planned and sized to get it's ore from the main open pit, it's still possible to substitute a portion of other ore if it has a higher grade. The average grade at the mill should kept as high as possible, particularly at the start of a project.
